Zappos, Tony's Higher Purpose
I recently finished reading Tony Hsieh’s book, Delivering Happiness. Delivering Happiness became the “brand promise” of Zappos in 2009, and as Tony points out in his book - happiness is what we are all ultimately in pursuit of in all facets of our lives. Happiness is a little funny, though. All happiness is not created equal. We think that we know what we want, and believe we are focused on the things that will truly make us happy long-term, but that’s generally not the case. The book gives some insights into how focusing on your higher purpose, making that purpose into your passion, and then enjoying the highs and even the lows of your experiences to come may be the formula that we are all looking for. …
